Jadon Sancho will not be leaving Borussia Dortmund during the January transfer window, with the Bundesliga side keen to retain the winger until the end of the season.
The future of the England international has been a constant source of speculation in recent months, Sancho having attracted attention from a host of Europe’s leading clubs including Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United.
Chelsea are believed to be keen to secure the signing of a player who grew up as a boyhood Blues’ fan, whilst Sancho possesses a strong relationship with current Stamford Bridge players such as Tammy Abraham and could be interested in a return to his native London after two-and-a-half years in Germany.
United are also long term admirers as they continue to pursue emerging, British talent, though the club’s hopes of signing the teenager may rest on their ability to secure Champions League qualification this season.
Liverpool, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also reported to be monitoring developments regarding the 19-year-old, though each club will now have to wait until the summer with Dortmund refusing to sell during the winter window.
According to Sky Germany, whilst Dortmund acknowledge that Sancho’s long term future is likely to be away from the club, the German side believe finding a suitable replacement during January will prove too difficult and will resist any offers this month.
There is no release clause in Sancho’s current contract at the club, the winger likely to command a fee in the region of £100m with his deal running until June 2022.
