Jadon Sancho is ‘confident’ of sealing a move to Manchester United this summer as the Premier League side work on a deal to sign the Borussia Dortmund winger.
Sancho is the Red Devils’ number one target during the transfer window after a move failed to materialise last summer, with Dortmund’s lowering of their initial £108m valuation moving a return to English football for the star closer.
United are understood to have had an opening offer of £67m rejected by the Bundesliga side, whose demands are believed to be around £77m up-front with potential add-ons.
The England international is currently with the Three Lions’ squad at Euro 2020, though the Manchester Evening News are reporting that Sancho is confident of completing a move to Old Trafford.
Sancho has pushed his agent, Emeka Obasi, to secure a move to Manchester this summer and there has reportedly been a breakthrough in personal terms after United baulked at the 21-year-old’s demands last summer.
United’s initial contract offer last summer was understood to be lower than the £190,000-a-week Sancho earns in Germany, whilst there were complications over the demands of an intermediary fee from Marco Lichtsteiner, who acted on behalf of Dortmund.
Those stumbling blocks appear to have been navigated with Obasi having reportedly reached terms with United, the finalisation of a fee the next obstacle to overcome ahead of a big-money move to the Premier League for Sancho.
