Roy Makaay holds the record for the fastest goal scored in Champions League history, the former Netherlands international ensuring Bayern Munich got off to a perfect start during a round of 16 clash with Real Madrid in 2006/07.
Makaay scored goals at a prolific rate during a career spent at the highest level, becoming a firm favourite amongst the supporters of Deportivo La Coruna and Bayern Munich.
He won league titles with both clubs including back-to-back Bundesliga triumphs with the latter, part of an impressive haul of 102 goals in just 178 appearances for the Bavarians across four seasons.
None came faster than his goal against Real Madrid after just 10.12 seconds, a strike which helped Bayern overcome a first-leg deficit to eliminate the Spanish giants in the last-16.
Roberto Carlos’ heavy touch is capitalised on by Hasan Salihamidžić, who square ball to Makaay is fired beyond Iker Casillas to get the German side off to the perfect start.
