Roma eye Chelsea striker Batshuayi as potential Dzeko replacement

Roma are eyeing up a move for Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi as a potential replacement for Edin Dzeko.

The Serie A are currently considering replacements for the veteran Bosnian forward, who looks likely to join Serie A rivals Inter Milan after four seasons in the Italian capital.

According to Sky Sports Italia, Roma could make a move for Belgian international Batshuayi, who has struggled to establish himself at Chelsea.

The 25-year-old returned to Stamford Bridge this summer following a loan spell at Crystal Palace, but has fallen behind Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud in new manager Frank Lampard’s plans for the season.

Batshuayi joined Chelsea in a €40m deal from French side Marseille in 2016 and has scored 19 goals in 53 appearances for the club.

He has also spent time on loan at Borussia Dortmund and Valencia, and could now be set to leave the club on a permanent basis in search of first-team football.
