Harry Redknapp has backed Liverpool to win an elusive Premier League title this season, and says he would have ‘loved’ the chance to manage the club during his career.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have made a perfect start to the new season, winning each of their first eight fixtures to open up an eight-point advantage over nearest challengers Manchester City.
Having finished as runners-up by just a single point last season, hopes have been raised on Merseyside that Liverpool can finally end their long wait for a league title, and former Tottenham and Portsmouth boss Redknapp has backed Klopp’s side to be crowned champions this season.
“I can see them [Liverpool] winning the league this year,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.
“Give them the title and give it to them now. I’ve had a big bet and I think the bookmakers should pay me out!
“If I had one club I’d love to have managed it would have been Liverpool. I loved them.”
