Report: Rashford close to signing £78 million Manchester United contract

Marcus Rashford is close to signing a new contract worth a staggering £78m at Manchester United.

The England international has been in locked in contract talks at United, with the club keen to secure his future amidst interest from Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The 21-year-old academy graduate is reportedly happy at Old Trafford, and is keen to sign a new deal that will commit his long-term future to his boyhood club.

The Mirror are reporting that Rashford has requested a new deal worth a huge £300,000-a-week, matching the terms previously held by Wayne Rooney who the forward feels he has replaced.

Rashford’s current deal is reportedly worth around £80,000-a-week, with his new mega-deal set to see his wages more than treble.

The contract will run until 2024 and earn Rashford £15.8m per year, with the club believing the deal will prove value for one of the club’s biggest assets.

Rashford has thrived since the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager, and has scored a career-best 10 Premier League goals so far this season.
