Arsenal have earned a reputation as set-piece specialists this season with Mikel Arteta’s team finding another string to their bow.
The Gunners have been deadly from dead-balls during the current campaign, already eclipsing their return of set-piece strikes from the entire 2022/23 Premier League campaign.
Here, we’ve ranked the teams in the Premier League to have scored the most set-piece goals this season.
=4. Luton, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Wolves – 10
Seven sides have reached double digits for set-piece goals in 2023/24, with Luton, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Wolves all tied on 10.
Luton have used dangerous deliveries from set-pieces to their advantage and Alfie Doughty has starred with his technique in such situations. The full-back has five assists this season, while forward Elijah Adebayo has scored four headed goals, the joint-most in the Premier League.

Wolves, meanwhile, have shown marked improvement from set-pieces since Gary O’Neil’s appointment as manager. Last season, Wolves ranked 19th in the Premier League for set-piece goals, having managed just six all season.
3. Newcastle – 11
Newcastle rank third with 11 set-piece goals scored this season. Kieran Trippier remains one of the most dependable deliverers of a dead-ball in the Premier League and has 10 assists from 24 league appearances this season, the best return of his top-flight career.
The England right-back will be targeting Trent Alexander-Arnold’s single-season assist record for a defender, set at 13 during the 2019/20 campaign.
Eddie Howe on Kieran Trippier topping the assists chart in the Premier League:
“It is a brilliant stat for a full-back, he is a guy who will play a lot of creative passes before a goal happens. He has been fundamental to how we work – his leadership skills behind-the-scenes haveโฆ pic.twitter.com/Vd25CXxPhp

2. Everton – 15
Sean Dyche has Everton well-drilled at attacking set-pieces, with the Toffees having scored 15 goals from set-plays during the 2023/24 campaign.
Incredibly, that is more than double the number Everton managed last season (7), with a third of the season still remaining. However, Everton have also conceded more goals (10) from set-pieces than they did last season (8).
Dyche will demand that the Toffees tighten up across the run-in as Everton look to preserve their Premier League status for another season.
1. Arsenal – 18
Arsenal are out in front as the best set-piece team in the Premier League this season. The Gunners have forged a reputation for intricate football across the last decade, but Mikel Arteta’s attempt to turn Arsenal into title challengers has seen variety added to their game.
The north Londoners have scored 18 set-piece goals this season, with centre-back duo Gabriel Maghalaes and William Saliba combining for six goals between them.
Gabriel is the top-scoring defender in the Premier League since his arrival at Arsenal from Lille in 2020 and has four headed goals this season, the joint-most of any player in the division.

The club’s set-piece prowess has helped Arsenal to a free-scoring run in recent weeks, netting 15 goals across their last three Premier League fixtures in big wins over West Ham, Burnley and Newcastle.
Declan Rice has taken recent responsibility for set-pieces and has three assists in his last three Premier League appearances. The club-record signing had recorded just two assists for former club West Ham in the Premier League last season.
Arsenal’s 18 set-piece goals is also the highest number across England’s top four divisions.
