Ralf Rangnick has provided an update on the fitness of Edinson Cavani and Scott McTominay ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Watford at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils take on Roy Hodgson’s side on Saturday as the club search for a third consecutive Premier League victory and remain clear of the chasing pack in the race for Champions League football.
Rangnick has confirmed he will be without both Cavani and McTominay for the fixture against the Hornets, however, with the former continuing to struggle with a groin issue that has plagued the Uruguayan forward for much of the campaign.
McTominay also missed the midweek draw at Atletico Madrid through illness and the midfielder will again be absent against Watford having not returned to training.
“The situation is exactly the same,” Rangnick told his pre-match press conference.
“He [Cavani] hasn’t been training with us so he won’t be available for tomorrow’s game and the same is true with Scott McTominay.
“He is still ill, he hasn’t been training with us, so hopefully he will start training with us again next week, but for tomorrow’s game they will both be unavailable.”
