Raiola launches scathing attack on ‘out of touch’ Manchester United

Mino Raiola has launched a scathing attack on Manchester United, calling them ‘out of touch’ and accusing them of ruining players.

The agent, whose clients include Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Erling Haaland, recently accused Manchester United of being more focussed on financial success rather than success on the pitch, saying that the Old Trafford club needs to appoint a sporting director.

Having brokered the £89 million move to take Pogba to Old Trafford back in 2016, Raiola’s most recent dealing with United was surrounding Haaland’s transfer, the Norwegian opting to join Borussia Dortmund instead of reuniting with compatriot Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, despite the Red Devils willingness to pay him £200,000-a-week.

Speaking after the 19-year-old’s move to the Bundesliga giants, the Italian agent seemed to reject claims that United had ‘pulled out’ of negotiations due the structure of the payments, though did insist he would have ‘obliged’ to take the striker to Old Trafford if that were his preferred destination.

However, with the Mino Raiola show seemingly in full swing, the controversial agent has not held back with his latest comments, calling the club ‘out of touch with reality’, and accusing them of ruining even the best of players, with Pogba failing to consistently display the form he showed during his time at Juventus.

“Pogba’s problem is Manchester United. It’s a club out of touch with reality and without a sporting project,” Raiola told Italian news outlet La Repubblica.

“I wouldn’t take anyone there, they would even ruin Maradona, Pele and Maldini.

“Paul needs a club and a squad, one like Juventus was before.”
