PSG complete Idrissa Gueye transfer

Paris Saint-Germain have completed the £30m signing of Everton midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye.

The 29-year-old has moved to the French champions following three seasons at Goodison Park, the Senegal international making 108 appearances for the club since joining from Aston Villa in 2016.

PSG has initially expressed an interest in the midfielder in January, with Everton rejecting several bids, but have now completed a deal for Gueye who has signed a 4-year deal at the Ligue 1 side.

Gueye spoke of his pride at moving to Paris, describing the club as one of the most ‘ambitious sports projects in Europe’.

“I’m immensely proud to sign for Paris Saint-Germain,” Gueye told psg.fr.

“After focussing on the AFCON with Senegal, I wanted to give a new boost to my club career by joining Paris Saint-Germain, one of the most structured and ambitious sports projects in Europe.

“I’d like to thank the directors, the coach and his staff for the confidence they have shown in me. I will do everything to justify the faith they have shown in me and to integrate into this talented squad. And of course I can’t wait to take in the amazing atmosphere of the Parc des Princes, which impressed me during my first seasons in France!”
