Premier League Transfer Rumour Mill: Newcastle block Bruno bids

We’re back again with our daily briefing of the latest Premier League transfer news and speculation. Here are the biggest rumours and reports from January 10.

Bruno Guimaraes is fast becoming as popular in Newcastle as Ant and Dec or shirtless afternoons at St James’ Park, and the Magpies are keen to ensure the Brazilian is going nowhere. inews are reporting that Paris Saint-Germain are sniffing around the star, but that the Magpies will turn down all approaches.

 

Sky Germany claim PSG could turn their attention to Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich, who had been linked with Manchester City.

Bayern, meanwhile, are closing in on a deal to sign Eric Dier from Tottenham in a cut-price €4m transfer, after failing to hijack Spurs’ own move to sign Radu Dragusin from Genoa.

Hayden Hackney made headlines this week after scoring Middlesbrough’s winner against Chelsea in the EFL Cup semi-finals. Spurs have taken a liking to the talented 21-year-old, report the Evening Standard, but could face competition from Liverpool and both Manchester clubs.

The Standard also claim there is a West London battle on to sign AZ Alkmaar striker Vangelis Pavlidis. The Greek goal-getter has hit 69 goals across the last two-and-a-half seasons in Holland, form which has caught the eye of Fulham, Chelsea, Barcelona and AC Milan.

Former Manchester United and Chelsea enforcer Nemanja Matic is fed up in France and eyeing a Premier League return, according to L’Equipe, with the Serbian contemplating retirement if he cannot find a route out of Rennes.

Finally, Al Ettifaq, ‘won’t be pressurised’ into selling wantaway midfielder Jordan Henderson. The England international, who moved to Saudi Arabia to ‘grow the game’ in the summer, clearly feels his work is done after six months in the Middle East and wants a move back to Europe.

Ajax are jostling with Bundesliga teams and two unnamed Premier League clubs to sign the 33-year-old, report ESPN.
