Paul Pogba never seems far away from the headlines, and reports today suggest his agent is trying to engineer a £100m move to Barcelona.
The Manchester United midfielder has attracted plenty of attention since he made his world record £89 million return to Old Trafford, whether it be for his outrageous hair styles, his antics on social media, or his inconsistent performances on the pitch.
The inconsistency of his performances is however the biggest frustration for United fans, with the 25-year-old putting in world class performances one week before going missing the next, something which has reportedly caused his relationship with Jose Mourinho to deteriorate.
He has been linked with a return to Juventus, as well as to big spending French champions PSG, but reports in the last few days have hinted that Barcelona could be a potential destination.
Ernesto Valverde recently refused to rule out a move for the Frenchman, describing him as a ‘great player’, and now they are being linked with making a £100 million move.
The Star claim that Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, is set to tell Manchester United that he would be able to broker a deal between the two clubs if they are wanting to cash in on their star asset.
However, with just four days remaining for Premier League clubs to make signings, it seems highly unlikely that Pogba will be heading to the Nou Camp this summer.
Aside from the limited time remaining for United to sign a replacement, Barcelona have also announced they have agreed a deal to sign Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich, meaning they are pretty well covered in central midfield.
Pogba is set to miss the start of the Premier League season after seemingly ignoring Jose Mourinho’s plea to cut his post World Cup holiday short. United kick off the season on August 10 against Leicester City.
