Mauricio Pochettino has dismissed talk he could quit Tottenham as a ‘stupidity rumour’.
Speculation had emerged this week that the Spurs boss could walk away from the club, with some bookmakers even suspending betting on the Argentine’s departure.
Rumours had circulated that the 47-year-old could leave regardless of the result in this weekend’s North London derby at Arsenal, though speaking ahead of the game, Pochettino was quick to dismiss talk he is set to depart after five seasons at the club.
“What I can say about that is it’s a stupidity rumour,” Pochettino said at his pre-match presser.
“After five years, now starts the sixth, and you know how we worked in the summer to try and rebuild and re-update [the squad].
“We are now at version 6.0 of MP (Mauricio Pochettino) and that stupidity that can happen through some rumour on social media that can create a big problem that doesn’t exist.
“I’m not going to walk away after the North London derby.”
