Nunez: ‘I want to win a lot of trophies at Liverpool’

Darwin Nunez has revealed his ambitions to ‘win a lot of trophies at Liverpool’ after completing his move to Anfield.

“When I arrived at the training ground, I was really surprised to see the set-up and the structure and all the trophies here,” he told the club’s official website.

“You can then imagine yourself winning more trophies and then later on when you come here again and see the trophies on display, you can say, ‘Look, I was a part of that, I was there at that time, winning trophies.’

“That’s one of the reasons why I came here to Liverpool – to win trophies and titles. I want to win a lot of trophies at Liverpool.”

Nunez will join an exciting collecting of attacking talent in Jurgen Klopp’s squad and the Uruguay international says he is relishing the chance to play alongside Liverpool’s ‘monsters’.

“There are some top, top players here with great qualities. There is Firmino, who’s a great player; and then Jota, who is another great striker; Luis Diaz, Salah. To play alongside these ‘monsters’ is going to be something really special.

“I think Liverpool have got absolutely everything – good players and supporters who really help the team at certain points in the game. So, yes, I think it is a very big club and it’s going to be great here.”
