Minamino returned to Liverpool last summer and played a valuable role in the club’s domestic cup successes despite his lack of game-time, finishing as the club’s leading scorer in both the League Cup and FA Cup.
The forward – who had been linked with Wolves, Fulham and Southampton – scored 10 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions last season, just nine of which came from the start.
