Crystal Palace are reportedly set to demand £60 million for their young full-back, Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The England U21 international has been one of the breakout young performers in the Premier League this season, with his form attracting the attentions of Manchester United, who are on the market for a new right-back following the departure of Antonio Valencia.
While Jose Mourinho always favoured tried-and-tested, ready-made signings, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems determined to restore Manchester United‘s tradition of signing the best young talent, and Wan Bissaka certainly seems to fit that bill.
However, the Daily Mail are reporting that in an attempt to deter the Red Devils’ interest, Crystal Palace are set to demand £60m for the 21-year-old, a fee which would eclipse the current world record fee for a full-back, which was set when Man City paid £52m for Benjamin Mendy in 2017.
Whether £60m is enough to deter Manchester United is yet to be seen, although they have also been linked with PSG’s Thomas Meunier and Juventus’ Joao Cancelo.
United are expected to spend heavily this summer after what has been a disastrous season, while a number of big name players could be set to exit the club, including top earner Alexis Sanchez, who is attracting the attentions of Inter Milan and Juventus, despite only scoring one goal all season.
