Manchester United place four first-team defenders up for sale

Manchester United will continue their summer clear out under new manager Erik Ten Hag by allowing four first-team defenders to leave Old Trafford in the coming months.

The 20 time league champions have already announced the departures of Edison Cavani, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, and Paul Pogba and now according to the MEN defensive pairing Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Brandon Williams are set to be transfer listed.

Wan-Bissaka’s limitations in possession have been lead bare over the last couple of seasons and made a mockery of the £50 million transfer fee transfer fee United paid out under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The 24-year-old is wanted by former club Crystal Palace on loan and Jose Mourinho’s Roma have also been credited with an interest in signing the player on a permanent deal.

Academy graduate Williams was given plenty of game time under Solskjaer during the 19/20 season, but has never looked up to the level required to be a regular in a side competing at the top end of the Premier League and after a loan spell at relegated Norwich this term the 21-year-old looks will be allowed to leave in search of first team football.

The news of Wan-Bissaka and Williams being set to depart comes on the back of reports earlier this week that United have also decided to allow centre-back pairing Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe leave Old Trafford.
