Manchester United have opened contract talks with Juan Mata and Ander Herrera.
The Spanish duo are two of a host of United players, including the likes of Anthony Martial, David De Gea and Ashley Young, who have entered the final year of their deals.
Sky Sports reports that the pair, along with Young, have been offered fresh terms to extend their stays at Old Trafford.
Mata, 30, had been linked with a summer switch to Juventus, whilst it has been reported that Herrera, 29, could return to former side Athletic Bilbao.
Despite not being a regular this season, Herrera has been vocal in his desire to stay at the club.
He said: “I am going to try to give everything in every training session and every game to deserve a new contract.’’ He said.
“When you play for one of the top five clubs in the world, you don’t want to leave. You want to stay as long as possible.”
