Manchester United have moved to deny reports Paul Pogba is refusing to join the club’s pre-season tour, insisting the midfielder will be part of the squad which travels to Australia on Sunday.
The France international is reportedly desperate to leave the club this summer and has been linked with a move away, the 26-year-old increasing speculation by admitting it may be time to seek ‘a new challenge somewhere else’ amid interest from Real Madrid and Juventus.
Pogba is yet to join up with United for pre-season despite the majority of Solskjaer’s squad having returned, however, the Daily Star is reporting that the midfielder has been allowed extra time off having featured for France in their international fixtures in June.
Manchester United are keen to keep the midfielder at the club, and have put a £150 million price tag on his head to try to put off any potential suitors.
Pogba is expected to board United’s flight to Australia for their pre-season tour this weekend, which will begin with fixtures against Perth Glory and Leeds United before facing Inter Milan in Singapore.
Solskjaer’s side also meet Tottenham in Shanghai and AC Milan in Cardiff, before their Premier League season begins at home to Chelsea on August 11.
