Ainsley Maitland-Niles is keen to leave Arsenal on loan this month amid a lack of first-team football at the Emirates so far this season.
Maitland-Niles has struggled to establish himself in Mikel Arteta’s side this season and has started just five league games during the current campaign, the versatile midfielder now considering his options ahead of the transfer window’s deadline on Monday.
According to the Mirror, the 23-year-old is keen to secure more regular opportunities as he bids to earn his place in the England squad for this summer’s European Championships, having earned five senior caps since breaking into Three Lions’ set-up last year.
Wolves were interested in signing the player on a permanent deal last summer and reportedly came close to securing a deal for the star, only for Arsenal to reverse their stance on allowing the academy graduate leave.
Maitland-Niles’ versatility makes him an attractive proposition for any sides looking to strengthen their options late in the window, with the England international comfortable in either full-back position alongside his preferred role in central midfield.
West Brom have been linked with a move for the player, whilst Atletico Madrid have also been suggested as a potential destination should Arsenal sanction a loan move in the coming days.
