Sadio Mane has declared Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp as ‘the best in the world’ following the club’s impressive start to the new season.
Liverpool headed into November’s international break with an eight-point advantage at the top of the Premier League following their 3-1 victory over Manchester City and unbeaten start to the campaign, a draw at rivals Manchester United the only blemish on an otherwise perfect league record so far.
The club have also begun the defence of their Champions League title in strong fashion, winning three of their four group stage fixtures, with the club once again primed to be challenging for the game’s biggest prizes this season.
Sadio Mane is Liverpool’s top scorer in the division with seven, and the Senegalese forward has lavished praise on his manager, lifting the lid on what makes the German so special and explaining why he regards Klopp as the finest manager in world football.
“I would struggle to describe just how successful he has been for Liverpool,” Mane told the Official Liverpool FC Monthly Magazine.
“Everybody can see what he has done for this club, for this city and the quality he has as a manager.
“There are a lot of good managers in Europe but what I can say is that our manager always has the right words and the right things to manage his team, especially knowing how to deal with his team.
“I would always trust his influence on the team. He is a winner and I would say he is the best in the world.”
Liverpool return to Premier League action this weekend with a trip to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, Roy Hodgson’s side currently sitting 12th in the table following their 2-0 defeat at Chelsea prior to the international break.
