Leeds United are fifth in the Premier League and unbeaten after five games, and they visit second-placed Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday lunchtime.
They are seeking a first win over Arsenal since May 2003. Leeds lost both league meetings with Arsenal last season, 4-0 at Elland Road and 5-0 at the Emirates, without scoring.
Leeds United team news
Joe Rodon (hamstring) remains out and faces a battle to be back before the end of October, while Mateo Joseph (ACL) is a long-term absentee. Dan James is also out with a back injury, which Farke confirmed on Thursday after the winger returned from Wales duty. Harry Wilson (thigh) and Jean-Matteo Bahoya (ankle) are doubts. Farke said Wilson has been in team training since Tuesday and has a chance of being available, while Bahoya, hurt with France’s Under-21s, was out on the pitch with the squad for the first time on Thursday and also has a chance. Wilson could return to the starting XI if he is passed fit.
Leeds have no suspensions. Farke is expected to name the side that drew 0-0 with Crystal Palace, with James Trafford in goal behind Justin, Muharemović and Elvedi, and Bogle, Tanaka, Ampadu, Stach and Gudmundsson across midfield. Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are expected to lead the line. Calvert-Lewin has scored three times this season but not in his last nine games against Arsenal, and he played only 15 minutes across England’s four Nations League games.
