Those persistent – and perhaps somewhat unfounded – rumours linking Kylian Mbappe with a move to Liverpool are likely to hit overdrive once more following the star’s latest comments on the Premier League leaders.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward has routinely been linked with a blockbuster move to Merseyside in recent months following the success of Jurgen Klopp’s side, the German having guided the Reds to Champions League success last season and to the verge of an elusive Premier League title.
Liverpool currently sit 25-points clear of nearest challengers Manchester City ahead of a potential return to action for England’s top tier, and Mbappe has lavished praise on the club following their performances this season.
“This season Liverpool have been a machine in the Premier League. They have made winning look easy – but the truth is that is never easy,” Mbappe told The Mirror.
“To be as ruthless as they have been would come from having a very good manager and lots of hard work in training.
“Performances like they have been having don’t just happen.”
Any hopes of Liverpool fans that Mbappe’s comments were a come-and-get-me plea should be somewhat tempered however, the France international reiterating his commitment to PSG and outlining his ambition to deliver a first Champions League title to Paris.
“It is a big ambition of mine to win the European Cup and to be a part of PSG winning their first European Cup would be very special.”
