Klopp reckons Keita has finally ‘found his feet’ in a Liverpool shirt

Jurgen Klopp believes Naby Keita has finally ‘found his feet’ in a Liverpool shirt.

The 24-year-old arrived in a much-hyped £52m deal from German side Red Bull Leipzig in the summer, but has so far adjusted slowly to English football having enjoyed an indifferent season.

Injuries and inconsistency have hampered the Guinea international’s progress, though the midfielder has shone having been given an opportunity in recent weeks.

Keita scored his first Liverpool goal in the 3-1 win at Southampton last weekend, before scoring the opener as Klopp’s side beat Porto 2-0 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie on Tuesday night.

Klopp believes Keita has finally adjusted to life at Liverpool, and expects the midfielder to rediscover the form that made him one of the most highly rated players in the Bundesliga.

“He’s looked really good in training the last few weeks. He found his feet in the Southampton game,” Klopp said at his pre-match press conference.

“He showed a lot of the things we will see in the future much more often. A good moment, long may it continue.”
