Jorginho responds to rumours about potential Napoli return

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has responded to speculation linking him with a return to Napoli, saying he misses the Italian city.

The Italy international swapped Naples for west London in 2018, following Maurizio Sarri to Stamford Bridge, and after a difficult first season at the club has gone on to become an integral part of the Chelsea side under Frank Lampard and now Thomas Tuchel.

Despite being a key fixture of the side, the Brazilian born midfielder has often been linked with a return to Italy, with the likes of Juventus said to have been interested.

More recent reports have suggested that a return to Napoli could be on the cards, with his agent, Jorge Santos, this week telling Radio Marte that a return to the Diego Armando Maradona stadium would be evaluated.

“If Napoli will make an offer, we’ll evaluate it,” Santos said. “He had a great time in Naples, and he has many friends over there.”

Speaking while on international duty, Jorginho has done little to dispel the reported interest in his services, speaking of his love for the City of Naples, and his dislike for the English weather.

“There are no words to describe how much I miss Naples,” he told Canale21.

“Who wouldn’t miss Naples? It’s so cold in London, they don’t even know what the sun is.”

The midfielder has netted 16 goals in 126 appearances since moving to Chelsea, the majority coming from the penalty spot, while he has also provided three assists.
