Joao Felix agent set for talks with Premier League quartet

Joao Felix’s representatives are set to hold talks with a quartet of Premier League clubs over the future of Atletico Madrid forward.

Felix is keen to leave Atletico after a fall-out with manager Diego Simeone, with the 23-year-old having made just five league starts so far this season.

Felix is understood to be ‘open’ to a move to the Premier League after struggling for status in the Spanish capital since his £113m club-record move from Benfica in 2019.

According to the Mirror, the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has already held discussions with Manchester United and Chelsea to gauge their potential interest in the forward.

Mendes also plans to hold talks with Newcastle and Aston Villa over Felix’s future, while AS have suggested that Arsenal are also monitoring developments.

Felix is keen to sign for a club competing in the Champions League, but the prospect of an increase in wages and regular first-team football could be persuasive for those outside Europe’s top competition.

Atletico are also open to his departure as the club look to balance the books following a group stage exit in the Champions League this season.

Felix has scored 33 goals in 129 appearances for Atletico, but has struggled to find his role in Simeone’s often pragmatic plan.
