James Rodriguez’s transfer to Manchester United seems to have edged a step closer.
Sky Sports are reporting that the Columbian international has been offered to Manchester United ahead of a potential transfer this summer.
Rodriguez has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer and have reports have even suggested he has already agreed personal terms with Manchester United.
Rodriguez’s move to Old Trafford could rely on United winning next Wednesday’s Europa League final against Ajax, a result which would see them return to Champions League football, something which the 24-year-old is demanding.
Real Madrid paid around £70million to AS Monaco to sign Rodriguez back in 2014 after his stunning performances at the World Cup in Brazil. It is claimed the Champions League finalists are looking to recuperate as much of that original transfer fee as possible, with £50m most likely to be enough to seal the deal.
Rodriguez was involved in Real Madrid’s 4-1 win against Sevilla last weekend, a game in which he seemed to say goodbye to the Bernabeu crowd after being substituted after an hour of play.
A deal to take Rodriguez to Old Trafford could be made easier as the player shares the same agent, Jorge Mendes, as Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho. However, Real Madrid could try to include David de Gea in any potential move, after having been strongly linked with a move to the Bernabeu once more.
