Herrera: We want to make Manchester United fans proud

Ander Herrera has said that he and his Manchester United teammates are looking to make their fans proud after their disappointing start to the season.

Manchester United have had a dreadful start to this campaign, winning just half of their opening 12 Premier League matches so far, leaving them languishing in eighth in the table.

Their recent humiliation came at the hands of Manchester City, who comfortably beat them 3-1 in the derby a fortnight ago in their last outing, putting an end to their five-game unbeaten streak in the league.

They return to action this weekend and will be looking to get back to winning ways when they host Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday.

With Jose Mourinho having already praised the clubs fans for their unwavering support, Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera has said that he is hoping to make them proud once again with his performances on the field.

“It is important to train but it is also important to rest as well. I am fresh again, ready to help and I am ready to make our fans proud,” Herrera told United’s official website.

“We need the people of Old Trafford to support us and we want them to see our reaction, our desire to win and to get three points.”
