Harry Kane confirms he’s staying at Spurs this summer

Harry Kane has confirmed he will be staying at Tottenham this summer, ending a summer-long saga surrounding a potential move to Manchester City.

Kane had informed the north London side of his desire to leave in search of elusive silverware, with City having seen two bids for the 28-year-old rejected during the transfer window.

The Premier League champions had been expected to return with an improved British transfer record offer for Kane, but the forward has now taken to social media to confirm he will be remaining in the capital.

Kane made his return to the side as a substitute during the 1-0 win at Wolves on Sunday and writing on Twitter confirmed he will be ‘staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success’.

The news will come as a major boost to Nuno Espirito Santo, whose early reign as Spurs manager has been dominated by the uncertainty surrounding Kane’s future.

Kane finished as the leading scorer in the Premier League last season to win a third career Golden Boot, whilst he also led the division for assists to become just the second player to top both metrics outright in a Premier League campaign.
