Pep Guardiola has provided an injury update ahead of Manchester City’s clash with Tottenham in the Premier League tomorrow evening.
Guardiola’s side face Spurs at the Etihad tomorrow as they look to strengthen their title challenge, City unbeaten in 14 league games since a 2-0 defeat to the north Londoners in the reverse fixture back in November.
City have won their past 10 league games in succession including a 4-1 thrashing of champions Liverpool last weekend, opening up a five-point advantage at the top of the Premier League and possessing a game in hand on second-placed Manchester United.
Guardiola’s side now face a defining period in their season, the meeting with Spurs followed by a Champions League last-16 encounter with Borussia Monchengladbach and Premier League clashes with both Everton and Arsenal.
The Spaniard has revealed that his side have been boosted by Rodri’s return to training ahead of this weekend’s fixture after the midfielder limped out of the FA Cup win at Swansea in midweek, though confirmed that Fernandinho, Nathan Ake and Kevin De Bruyne remain absentees.
Ruben Dias and Sergio Aguero have also trained this week through there was no confirmation over the availability of the pair with the former having missed the clash with Swansea through illness.
“Rodri trained quite good today and I think he will be available,” Guardiola said at his pre-match press conference.
“Fernandinho is out, Ruben Dias came back and Sergio Aguero made his second training session with us. Apart from Fernandinho, Nathan and Kevin de Bruyne, I think the rest of the first-team squad is available.”
