Ryan Giggs believes Manchester United should keep faith with Jose Mourinho, insisting the Portuguese is still the right man to bring success to Old Trafford.
Manchester United sit in seventh place in the Premier League after Saturday’s goalless stalemate with Crystal Palace, seven points behind Chelsea in the race for Champions League qualification.
Despite losing further ground in their bid for the top four, former United winger Giggs insists his former club should stick by Mourinho.
“I don’t see why changing the manager at this stage will change anything,” Giggs told Sky Sports News.
“Everyone knows what a successful manager he’s been over the years. I believe that bit of stability we’ve not had over the years – we need to stick with him.
“But results also need to change. I think we’ve got the manager, the players to do that.”
United’s immediate priority is Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Swiss side Young Boys, before returning to Premier League action in Saturday’s evening kick-off at Southampton.
