Owen Hargreaves has lavished praise on ‘unplayable’ Jadon Sancho following the Borussia Dortmund star’s performance in the club’s 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain.
The England international impressed as the Bundesliga side secured a crucial first leg victory in their Champions League last-16 tie, putting in a performance which only justified the interest in his signature from Europe’s leading clubs.
Manchester United and Chelsea have been strongly linked with summer moves and Hargreaves believes any big-money deal for the teenager will prove well worth the investment, likening the ‘special’ teenager to PSG forward Neymar following his performance.
“That performance from Sancho was like Neymar in his prime. Off the cuff. He was unplayable,” Hargreaves said on BT Sport.
“Get your cheque books out. Somebody go and sign that kid because he is special.”
Fellow BT Pundit Jermaine Jenas was also full of praise following Sancho’s display, lauding the winger’s self-confidence and belief in his own ability to make a difference on the biggest of occasions.
“He showed maturity beyond his years. He’s a spearhead for them with what he brings, his lack of respect for the opposition,” Jenas added.
“You always felt like he was going to do something tonight. That tells me he thinks he is the best player on the pitch.”
