Fulham consider move for ex-Man United manager after Silva exit

Fulham have discussed the potential appointment of former Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, following Marco Silva’s exit.

Silva has left Fulham for Benfica, returning to Portugal to take charge of the Lisbon side. Fulham are now working to appoint a successor, and Amorim’s name has been discussed.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has reported that Amorim is on the club’s shortlist, though it’s currently unclear whether the 41-year-old is receptive to the role.

Kieran McKenna had been a leading contender for Fulham, prior to his announcement that he was leaving Ipswich Town to take a break from football.

Lampard, Amorim and Arbeloa in frame for Fulham job

Coventry City’s Frank Lampard, Famalicão coach Hugo Oliveira, who previously worked with Marco Silva, and Palmeiras’ coach Abel Ferreira are also names in the frame.

The Athletic are reporting that Fulham have also held initial talks with ex-Real Madrid manager Alvaro Arbeloa.

The Spaniard is a free agent after leaving the Bernabeu this summer, following six months at the helm. Fulham are keen to assess all options before making a decision on Silva’s successor.
