Fantasy Premier League: Five must-have transfers on the wildcard for GW6
Bukayo Saka (ยฃ10m)
Only two players in the Premier League have registered at least one goal involvement every gameweek this season: Erling Haaland and Bukayo Saka. The Arsenal winger has not been explosive, scoring once and making five assists over five games, but his reliability is an underrated quality.ย
The north London outfit have not managed to score more than two goals in a single game so far, but that will surely change in either GW6 or GW7 when they hosts Leicester City and Southampton. Now is a great time to hop on the Saka train.ย
Fantasy Premier League – Three essential FPL tips ahead of GW6
Trent Alexander Arnold (ยฃ7.1m)
I would advise every manager to try and fit Trent Alexander-Arnold into their squad, and you absolutely should transfer him in if you’re on wildcard.ย
The Liverpool right-back has been a typically brilliant creative force this season. No defender has more chances created (13), big chances created (4), expected assists (2.0xA) or expected goal involvements (2.2xGI). It’s incredible he only has one attacking return so far.ย
Arne Slot has turned the team into a more solid outfit at the back, so clean sheets are going to be more a common route to points as well.ย

Bryan Mbeumo (ยฃ7.2m)
The Brentford forward continues to shine without Ivan Toney, netting four goals in five games. Bryan Mbeumo’s underlying stats aren’t earth shattering and his finishing is probably running a bit hot right now, but there is not a better mid-priced midfielder in FPL at the moment.ย
The Bees have a really nice run of fixtures over the next two months, Mbeumo is their primary source of goals and he’s on penalties.ย

At least one Arsenal defender
I say at least one, because a double up, or even a triple up, should be one every manager’s mind. Arsenal boasted the best defence of last season and that seems likely to be the case in 2024/25.ย
Gabriel Magalhรฃes (ยฃ6.1m) is the pick of the bunch after scoring from corners in consecutive games. Set pieces are a huge weapon for the Gunners and the centre-back is their main target. William Saliba (ยฃ6m) offers no attacking threat but he is nailed on to start every game.ย
Annoyingly, David Raya (ยฃ5.6m) is a doubt for this weekend, although I expect him to start. The Spaniard has been exceptional and, if we get confirmation before the deadline that he will play, should instantly enter every wildcard. I like Jurrien Timber (ยฃ5.5m) and Riccardo Calafiori (ยฃ5.8m) as alternative picks, but they are at greater risk of rotation.ย

Erling Haaland
Obviously. I don’t think we need to add anything else.ย
