Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has stated that his Stamford Bridge team-mate Eden Hazard is the most talented player in the Premier League.
Fabregas also revealed that Hazard is one of the best players he has ever played with, which is high praise indeed when you consider that the 31-year-old has featured in sides that have continued world class talents like Thierry Henry, Robin Van Persie, Lionel Messi, Neymar, Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta.
“He’s definitely the most talented player in the Premier League, obviously in this team (Belgium) as well,”
“Top-three, top-five in Europe 100 per cent.
“It’s up to him, I always tell him, I have conversations with him over the last four years. It’s all up to him.
“Maybe, maybe (he’s missing a bit of drive). But he needs help as well from us as a team and from people telling him what he can do.
“I don’t think even himself sometimes believes how good he is.
“He can really make the difference in every single game, I’m convinced of that.
“I’ve trained with him for four years and talent-wise, he’s definitely one of the best players I’ve played with.
“He should (score more), and he knows that.”
Hazard joined Chelsea from French side Lille in 2012 and has enjoyed plenty of success in West London, winning two Premier League titles as well as the 2014/2015 Player of The Year award.
However, as brilliant as the mercurial attacker can be at times there are certain critics who believe he could be even better if he pushed himself harder.
Hazard was in action yesterday as Belgium got their World Cup off to a convincing start by beating Panama 3-0.
Roberto Martinez’s side have of course been drawn in the same group as England, and Three Lions’ fans will be hoping that Hazard has one of his quieter games when the two teams come face to face on the 28th of June.
