Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has urged his teammates to enjoy the title race as the club guns for its first Premier League title.
The Reds are neck and neck with Manchester City in the hunt for the ultimate prize in English football, level on points with a game less played but behind their main rivals on goals scored.
The race for the Premier League title has lead to some nerves among the Anfield faithful, which was clearly transmitted to their players during their recent 1-1 home draw with Leicester City.
Liverpool bounced back with a 3-0 home win over Bournemouth however, and one of their key performers this season believes they need to start enjoying the current situation they find themselves in.
“I know it is really hard to win a league, especially the Premier League, but we have experienced players here at Liverpool,” Fabinho told liverpoolfc.com.
“We know we are [competing] at the top of the table and it is important to be there at this point in the league, but we cannot think just about the title every time because that can put extra pressure on us.
“I had a good season with Monaco, we scored a lot of goals and we had joy playing football – and we have to do it here as well. Enjoy the games and go on the pitch with happiness and go game by game.”
