Elijah Adebayo had an evening to remember after scoring a Premier League hat-trick in Luton’s 4-0 thrashing of Brighton.
Adebayo became the first Luton Town player to score a top-flight hat-trick since Lars Elstrup against Norwich City in September 1990, as The Hatters stunned the Seagulls at Kenilworth Road.
The 26-year-old is the ninth player to score a Premier League hat-trick this season and we’ve looked at each player to claim a match ball in 2023/24 to date.
Son Heung-min – Burnley vs Tottenham
Son Heung-min scored a hat-trick as Spurs came from behind to thrash Burnley at Turf Moor in September. The South Korean was in clinical form as the North Londoners ran riot, scoring the fourth Premier League treble of his career.
The 31-year-old, who has featured at centre-forward since Harry Kane’s exit in the summer, has scored 12 league goals this season. He has now reached 10+ goals in the Premier League in eight straight seasons.
Erling Haaland – Manchester City vs Fulham
Erling Haaland fired home a second-half treble as Manchester City cruised to a 5-1 win over Fulham at the Etihad.
Haaland’s haul came just days after he was recognised with the PFA Player of the Year award, following a 52-goal campaign in 2022/23. His hat-trick was his fifth in the Premier League, a feat achieved in little more than a season. Only eight players have ever scored more hat-tricks in the division’s history.
Evan Ferguson – Brighton vs Newcastle
Evan Ferguson made it three hat-trick scorers on the same day, following Son and Haaland with a treble of his own on September 2. The Ireland international underlined his vast potential with a hat-trick against Newcastle at the Amex Stadium, becoming just the fourth player aged 18 or under to score a Premier League treble.

Ollie Watkins – Aston Villa vs Brighton
Aston Villa sent a statement with a 6-1 battering of Brighton in late September. Ollie Watkins scored three times for Unai Emery’s side, who humiliated the visitors in a ruthless performance.
Watkins’ treble was his second of the season, having scored a hat-trick in the club’s Europa Conference League win over Hibernian.
Eddie Nketiah – Arsenal vs Sheffield United
Eddie Nketiah improved his chances of more regular football at Arsenal with a first top-flight treble against Sheffield United.
Nketiah, who had made his England debut earlier in October, downed the Blades with a fine treble, completed by a sublime strike from distance.
Nicolas Jackson – Tottenham vs Chelsea
Nicolas Jackson scored one of the most bizarre hat-tricks in Premier League memory during a bonkers London derby between Spurs and Chelsea.
The Senegalese striker had missed a boat-load of chances in a night of chaos that saw Spurs reduced to nine men after red cards for Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie. Spurs, who played over 40 minutes with nine men, held on until the 75th minute when Jackson scored his first to put Chelsea 2-1 ahead.
Ange Postecoglou’s bold defensive line was then exploited in stoppage time, as Jackson scored twice late on to seal a remarkable treble.
Dominic Solanke – Bournemouth vs Nottingham Forest
Dominic Solanke has evolved into one of the most effective forwards in the Premier League this season, scoring 12 times in 20 league appearances for Bournemouth.
Solanke was named as December’s Player of the Month after scoring six times in six games, a return which included a maiden Premier League hat-trick against Nottingham Forest. An England call-up has been mooted.

Chris Wood – Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest
Chris Wood came back to haunt his former team after scoring a hat-trick in Nottingham Forest’s shock win at Newcastle.
The New Zealand international endured a rather miserable 12 months at St James’ Park, in which he scored just four goals in 35 league appearances.
Wood rifled in three inside just 90 minutes on his return to the North East, however, producing a centre-forward masterclass as Forest ended a seven-game winless run with an upset victory.

Wood became just the fourth player to score a Premier League hat-trick against a former club, after Andy Cole, Marcus Bent and Josh King.
Elijah Adebayo – Luton vs Brighton
Luton produced their best Premier League performance to date after beating Brighton 4-0 at Kenilworth Road this week.
The Hatter scored twice inside the opening three minutes through Elijah Adebayo and Chiedozie Ogbene, before Adebayo completed his hat-trick with two further goals either side of the break.
The 26-year-old has been a real positive in Luton’s season so far and now has eight top-flight goals for the campaign.
