Arsenal boss Unai Emery has hailed the influence of David Luiz after the defender’s first goal for the club secured a 1-0 win over Bournemouth at the Emirates.
The Brazilian international headed home Nicolas Pepe’s early corner for the only goal of the game, as Arsenal moved up to third in the Premier League following victory over Eddie Howe’s side.
Luiz has endured a difficult start to life at the club following his summer switch from London rivals Chelsea, though Emery praised the 32-year-old’s impact since arriving at the club after the veteran’s impressive performance in Sunday’s win.
“The most important is to have a lot of corners. We had a lot in the first half,” Emery said in his post match press conference.
“When we have a lot we can score.
“He (Luiz) is very positive. He is every time speaking about positive things. He is helping the young players.
“He came late in the squad but his commitment is very high, his behaviour.”
