Borussia Dortmund have set the deadline and price tag Manchester United must meet in order to sign Jadon Sancho this summer.
Sancho has emerged as the number one transfer target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side following a stunning season in the Bundesliga, the winger scoring 17 league goals and providing a further 16 assists for Dortmund as they finished as runners-up to Bayern Munich.
The 20-year-old has flourished since moving to Germany from Manchester City three years ago but is now keen on a return to English football and the Premier League, with United leading the chase for a player who is likely to command a British transfer-record fee.
According to the Mirror, Dortmund have set a price tag of £90m for Sancho despite an expected dip in the transfer market amid the coronavirus pandemic, whilst the German outfit have informed the Red Devils they have until August 10 to complete the deal.
Lucien Favre’s side are keen to avoid a summer-long transfer saga and want any business conducted before they fly for a pre-season training camp in Switzerland, leaving United with a little over a month to conclude a deal for one of world football’s hottest properties.
Personal terms are not expected to provide a problem with Sancho reportedly keen on a switch to Old Trafford, the youngster excited by the prospect of linking up in an exciting forward line alongside the likes of Marcus Rashford and Antony Martial.
Dortmund had initially wanted a fee in excess of £100m and are not under financial pressure to sell, but will allow Sancho to leave should United meet their considerable asking price and deadline for the deal.
