Borussia Dortmund are ready to cash in on England star Jadon Sancho in the January transfer window following a breakdown in the relationship between club and player.
Sancho has developed into one of the most promising talents in world football since moving to Germany from Manchester City two years ago, though his status has slipped following a difficult start to the season.
The 19-year-old was fined and dropped for a crucial Bundesliga meeting with Borussia Monchengladbach after returning back late from international duty, before being humiliatingly substituted during the first half of a comprehensive defeat to Bayern Munich.
According to the Independent, a club source has said it is now ‘war in all directions’, with the club considering another fine for disciplinary issues after Sancho turned up late for a team briefing and training session before the club’s Champions League defeat to Barcelona on Wednesday night.
Sancho’s situation is being monitored by most of England’s leading clubs, Manchester United having previously seen an approach firmly rejected by Dortmund.
Liverpool are also believed to be interested in the player, whilst former club Manchester City are reported to have asked to be kept notified on developments.
The Premier League sides are likely to face competition from across Europe, however, Real Madrid and Barcelona also being linked with a player who is likely to cost in excess of £100m.
