Declan Rice admits he’d ‘love to’ play with Mason Mount ‘at club level’

Declan Rice admits he would ‘love to’ play with Mason Mount ‘at club level’ again as speculation continues to link the West Ham midfielder with a move away from the London Stadium.

Rice and Mount are close friends following their time spent together in the youth academy at Chelsea, though the former was released at the age of 14 and moved to cross-city rivals, West Ham.

The youngsters have since established themselves as senior England internationals following impressive breakthroughs at Premier League level, with Rice believed to be interesting some of the division’s leading sides.

Manchester United have been strongly linked with a move for the 21-year-old as they seek to bolster their midfield options, whilst former side Chelsea are also believed to be monitoring the player ahead of a potential return to Stamford Bridge.

A move to Chelsea would see Rice reunite with close friend Mount at club level, and the midfielder admits it is a prospect he would relish should the situation arise.

“Yeah I’d love to, I’d love to play with him [Mount] at club level again,” Rice told Copa 90.

“One thing we’ve always said as kids we’d love to play with each other at club and international level but obviously you never know because of different paths and things like that.”
