David Beckham is being lined up for an ambassadorial role at Manchester United, if Sheikh Jassim is successful in his bid to takeover the club.
Sheikh Jassim has been one of the frontrunners to takeover the Premier League side from the Glazer family, submitting multiple offers since the Glazers announced an intention to sell up at Old Trafford in November 2022.
Takeover talks have stalled in recent months with doubts surrounding the true intention of the Glazers, who are demanding a record-breaking figure in excess of £6bn for the club.
Both Sheikh Jassim and rival contender, British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, remain interested in a deal however, with talkSPORT reporting that the former is plotting to bring Beckham back to the club should he be successful.
Beckham adopted a similar position during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and Sheikh Jassim will look to bring back the former England captain, alongside other ex-Manchester United legends, in ambassadorial roles.
Beckham came through the academy ranks at Manchester United and won six Premier League titles and the Champions League among his honours with the Red Devils, before departing to sign for Real Madrid in 2003.
