Coman flattered by links to Manchester clubs but insists he’s ‘happy’ at Bayern

Kinglsey Coman says he is flattered by speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League but insists he is ‘happy’ at Bayern Munich.

Manchester United and Manchester City were both credited with an interest in the winger over the summer as they considered their wide options, with Coman having enjoyed an excellent season last term for the European champions.

The France international has continued his fine form into this season, scoring five goals and providing a further nine assists in all competitions, ranking second in the Bundesliga for goals provided behind only teammate Thomas Muller.

Coman admits that reports of interest in his services provides him with ‘additional confidence’, though the 24-year-old downplayed suggestions of a move away and insists he remains ‘happy’ with the German giants.

“It’s good to know that good teams are interested in me, it gives me additional confidence,” Coman told SportBild.

“But I have a contract here until 2023, I’m just thinking of Bayern. It’s all good, I’m happy … ”

Coman has started nine league fixtures this season despite increased competition for a first-team place from summer signing Leroy Sane, his performances having helped Bayern to the top of the Bundesliga once more – though he admits he was concerned over a potentially diminished role following the Germany international’s move from Man City.

“I had the feeling that I could be used less often [following Sane’s arrival]. I’m 24, that’s an age I have to play!

“Fortunately, my fear did not come true.”

Hansi Flick’s currently sit two points clear of second-placed RB Leipzig, ahead of Friday’s trip to face Borussia Monchengladbach.
