PSG ‘determined’ to sign Chelsea midfield dynamo N’Golo Kante

Paris-Saint Germain are claimed to be ‘determined’ to sign N’Golo Kante from Chelsea this summer.

Kante, who is widely regarded to be one of the best defensive midfielders in world football – has been less of an effective part of the Chelsea jigsaw this season after Maurizio Sarri opted to move him into a more advanced role to accommodate his summer signing, Jorginho, who followed him from Napoli.

While Kante has gone about his business in his usual fashion, with a smile upon his face, and has enjoyed his best ever goalscoring season, scoring five goals in all competitions, he hasn’t looked as effective as the midfield dynamo we have grown to love during his previous three years in the Premier League.

Now, according to the Sunday Mirror, French champions PSG are set to drop their interest in Everton midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye and are now ‘determined’ to sign the Kante instead.

However, with Chelsea facing a two-window transfer ban, as well as the prospect of losing Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, it is highly unlikely that the West London outfit would be open to losing the 28-year-old Parisian, especially when they were unable to sign a replacement.

The report does, however, say that if Thomas Tuchel’s oil-rich side are unable to lure Kante back to his home City, they could turn their attention to Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Meanwhile, Kante is facing a race against time to be fit in time to face Arsenal in the Europa League final after suffering a hamstring injury just 10 minutes into the 3-0 win over Watford on May 5th.
