Chelsea is now apparently ‘the most likely destination’ for Jadon Sancho, and the Stamford Bridge outfit are looking to complete a move worth £120 million next month.
Sancho has developed into one of the worlds most exciting talents, the 19-year-old already registering nine goals and nine assists for Borussia Dortmund this season, and looks firmly on course to improve on last season’s record of 12 goals and 14 assists.
The teenager’s form has attracted the attention of a whole host of clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and his former side Man City.
Manchester United have long been considered the favourites to sign Sancho, however, according to The Sun, Chelsea have now emerged as the leading contenders to secure the London born winger’s signature due to their willingness to pay Borussia Dortmund’s £120 million asking price.
The report says that while the Bundesliga club don’t want to lose the player in the upcoming January window, they may be willing to do a deal next month which sees Sancho return to the club on loan for the rest of the season, just like the deal that they agreed with Chelsea for Christian Pulisic at this time last year.
Frank Lampard has already spoken of his desire to add more creativity to his squad following the summer departure of Eden Hazard, and the acquisition of Sancho would almost certainly go someway to replacing the influential Belgian’s output in front of goal.
Chelsea currently sit in fourth in the Premier League ahead of Sunday’s huge London derby against Jose Mourinho’s Spurs, the Blues having won just two of their last seven in all competitions.
