Chelsea have informed Real Madrid that it will take a fee of €170m to prize Eden Hazard away from Stamford Bridge.
The European champions have a long standing interest in the Belgian, and are believed to be ramping up their efforts to sign the 27-year-old following a poor start to their domestic season.
Hazard, who has always insisted he is happy at Chelsea, has made no secret of his desire to one day play at The Bernabeu even saying that he has ‘always loved‘ Real and now Madrid President Florentino Perez is ready to make his move.
Perez see’s Hazard as the ideal replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who was allowed to leave for Italian side Juventus in the summer following nine years at the club.
El Chiringuito are reporting that whilst Chelsea are resigned to losing their star player, they will not do so on the cheap and will demand a fee €170m.
That fee would represent a record sale for a British club, eclipsing the £105m it took Barcelona to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool last January.
