Michael Carrick said he is ‘not expecting’ imminent talks about his future despite Manchester United’s latest defeat.
Carrick’s position as head coach looks under threat after Manchester United lost 3-0 to Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Rayan and Marcus Tavenier scored first-half goals for the rampant Cherries, before Evanilson completed a comfortable win for the visitors.
It’s a second straight heavy loss for the Red Devils, who conceded four in defeat to Como in midweek.
United are now without a win in eight games and have slumped to 16th in the Premier League table. Despite that, Carrick said he’s not expecting crisis talks and said he still has the ‘energy’ to turn results around.
Asked whether he thinks there will be talks about his future after the latest loss, Carrick told Sky Sports: “See what happens. I’m not expecting anything. It’s just digesting today – we knew it was an important day to try and get us moving forward and we haven’t done that. For me it’s just digesting that and the emotions at the end of the game is something I’ve not really had before.
“I’ve got the energy for sure – it means so much to me. You have games to focus on and gathering the players. The responsibility of doing that I enjoy that – I love it, it’s what I’m here for.”
