Frank Lampard says Chelsea are determined to improve theirย disappointing home form as they prepare to host Brighton this weekend.
Last weekend’s defeat to Liverpool at Stamford Bridge means Lampard is yet to win a home league fixture since returning to the club as manager this summer, a run the Chelsea boss is determined to end as they prepare to face Graham Potter’s side this Saturday.
Brighton have failed to win since the opening weekend of the new Premier League campaign but despite their opponents run of form, Lampard insists his side won’t underestimate the visitors as they bid to improve their disappointing record at home.
“The fact that we havenโt won at home in the league is something that we obviously we want to correct. If we want to be where we want to be weโre going to need home wins.
“We must respect Brighton hugely because theyโre playing very well, playing some really good football โ new manager, change of style, maybe not the points on the board that they deserve.
“So we canโt just because we havenโt had a home win expect it will come because weโre Chelsea and theyโre Brighton – no we respect them and weโll try and get our win.”
