Liverpool have ‘no plans’ to sign Bruno Fernandes

Liverpool have ‘no plans’ to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes according to reports today.

Liverpool are currently in talks with the Portuguese side regarding the sale of youngster Rafael Camacho, with reports suggesting the 19-year-old could be used as a makeweight in a deal to sign the in-demand Fernandes.

Fernandes has been linked with a host of Europe’s top sides after a prolific season in the Portuguese capital, the 24-year-old having scored 32 goals in all competitions for Sporting last season.

Manchester United are believed to be interested as they bid to strengthen their midfield options, however, the Standard are reporting that Liverpool have ‘no plans’ to bring the Portugal international to Anfield.

Portuguese newspaper Record report that Fernandes’ agent has met with Manchester United and that a formal offer is expected imminently. The report suggests Fernandes’ agent is pushing for a move to Old Trafford for his client, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side believed to have tabled the best proposition.

Tottenham had also been linked with a move for the player, however, Mauricio Pochettino’s side have reportedly dropped their interest in Fernandes to pursue alternative targets, with Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele having been linked.
