Tottenham have reportedly ended their interest in signing Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes.
The attacking midfielder has attracted the attention of several of Europe’s leading clubs following a superb season in the Portuguese capital, with Manchester City and Manchester United having both been credited with an interest in a summer move.
Fernandes enjoyed a prolific season for Sporting, scoring 32 goals and providing 18 assists in all competitions before helping the Portugal national team to Nations League success this summer.
Manchester City have already distanced themselves from a possible move, and now the Daily Mail now reporting that Spurs are the latest Premier League side to rule out a move for the 24-year-old.
United are now favourites to secure the signing of the highly-rated midfielder, while European Champions Liverpool are second favourites, as Sporting demand a fee of around £50m for their prized asset.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly interested in adding two new midfielders to his squad as he plots a summer overhaul at Old Trafford, with United having also been linked with Newcastle’s Sean Longstaff.
